With its reputation for dramatic and highly creative safety films, Air New Zealand has released its latest informative in-flight video, one which is being described as The “Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made.”
The instructional video plays homage to the third and final film in The Hobbit Trilogy, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies and is fairly jet-set in its casting, as it has not only been recorded on the film’s set, but also features cameos from several of the trilogy’s cast and crew, including Elijah Wood and director Peter Jackson.
The video, which is impressively produced, is also vigilant in explaining the key in-flight safety points, and can be seen online using the hashtag: #airnzhobbit. In 2012, the airline also made a Hobbit-inspired safety video, based on the first film in the trilogy, and promoted it similarly.
Air New Zealand has a reputation for dramatic flight safety videos. Some classics include the Richard Simmons dance party, and Baywatch’s David Hasselhoff riding a tiny bucking bronco, both of which can be viewed online.
